Robert Mapplethorpe, Poppy, 1988
Robert Mapplethorpe, Poppy, 1988

For the 8th edition of the Pavillion of Art and Design London, located in Berkeley Square, Hamiltons exhibited masterworks by Robert Mapplethorpe, Helmut Newton, Horst P. Horst, Guido Mocafico, Nobuyoshi Araki and new work by the Swedish artist Jacob Felländer.

A particular highlight was five rare, large format colour prints from Robert Mapplethorpe’s Flowers series.  Each highly stylized image displays Mapplethorpe’s understanding of light and composition and his exquisite use of colour.

The works were complemented on the stand by a selection of rare and unique objects of modern design by renowned French architect and designer Jean Prouvé.
