For the 2009 edition of Paris Photo, Hamiltons Gallery presented highlight from their programme, as well as brought together the work of three modern masters who trained their lenses on the Middle East at key moments in the twentieth century. Horst P. Horst’s ancient Persia, Irving Penn’s classical Morocco and Don McCullin’s modern Lebanon juxtapose the region’s unique exoticism with the harsh realities of life faced by its inhabitants.
